Asset searches can be used as a valuable tool in both pre and post litigation. For example, before spending thousands of dollars to hire an attorney to file a lawsuit on your behalf it would be wise to first run an asset search on the person(s) or business in order to determine the ownership of anything of value. Remember… “If there is nothing to obtain there is nothing to gain!!!” If after reviewing the asset search it can be reasonably established that the intended target of the lawsuit has nothing of value then it is probably not worth pursuing and you can prevent even greater losses by not spending even more money on an investment that is not collectible.

It is important to realize that even if a lawsuit is won in a court of law most courts will only provide the judgment against the other party while leaving it completely up to you to locate the assets and provide information to the appropriate officials in order for them to order seizure and/or garnishment. Many individuals hide assets to preclude paying judgements rendered against them which is why you will want to know where the assets can be found!

Under most circumstances we can find bank accounts, motor vehicles, merchant vessels, FAA Aircraft, Corporate Affiliations and property throughout the United States and in some cases, we may be able to trace funds to overseas or “off-shore” bank deposits.

Suggested compatible searches include:

The search for UCC Financing Statements, often referred to as UCC Searches, is one of the most common public record searches performed in conjunction with corporate and financial transactions. UCC searches seek to locate liens filed against a debtor (individual or company) that has entered into a secured agreement and has a financial obligation to a secured party supported by collateral described within the financing statement.
Since the implementation of Revised Article 9 (RA9) of the UCC, there are strict rules for the filing of UCC financing statements and specific guidelines for the searching of UCC financing statements. Since RA9 governs the proper jurisdiction for the filing of UCC financing statements. The UCC searches to ensure a debtor does not have any outstanding financial obligations that could affect the decision of another prospective secured party to enter into a financial agreement. RA9 also requires all parties to use their “exact name” or “legal name” when filing a UCC financing statement. While in theory this should make UCC searches more accurate, many states have restricted their search logic to “exact name” searches as well limiting the ability to find filings that may have abbreviated names or misspellings, etc.

Additional Recommended Searches Include:

Comprehensive Business Search

A Comprehensive Business Search is most complete and accurate business report available and includes all of the following searches: UCC Filings, Corporation Filings, Business Registrations, Business Contacts, Possible Bankruptcies, Bankruptcy Docket Sheet, Bankruptcy Document, Internet Domain Names Registered to Business, Individuals at Address, Current and Previous Property Ownership and Possible Current Motor Vehicles registered at the business address.
